Grobanites For Africa: helping the Mother Continent

Grobanites for Africa  is a grassroots charity effort whereby dedicated fans of Josh Groban attempt to affect positive change in the lives of African individuals suffering from poverty, HIV/AIDS, hunger, homelessness, or lack of educational opportunities.

Grobanites for Africa is an official affiliate of the Grobanites For Charity. They work non-stop to increase awareness of the crises in Africa and encourage support of the Josh Groban Foundation through donations.

During Josh's international tour in 2004, he visited South Africa. It was while he was there that he  met Nelson Mandela - becoming his Official Ambassador for the 46664 Project- as well as visited the feeding schemes. Also, he met with children who had been orphaned by the AIDS epidemic. Josh recalls his  time in South Africa as "a life-altering experience" and he mentions it in almost every interview.

Groban's  involvement and commitment to such an important cause has inspired his fans to dedicate themselves and reach out to other Grobanites for their support as well. And that's how this humanitarian project,
Grobanites for Africa, was born.

Grobanites for Africa  has worked to support the Josh Groban Foundation in its efforts to help the people of Africa through contributions to some very special programs. These programs are chosen by the JGF for the quality of their work and for the fact that donated funds go where they're most needed.....to projects that directly help the children, not to overhead or administrative costs. Some of the projects supported by the JGF in Africa:
  • Relief for famine victims in Niger, through Operation USA

  • Support for Keep A Child Alive, which provides antiretroviral treatment to children and families with HIV/AIDS

  • Construction and purchase of kitchen appliances, showers, toys and school supplies for the Zamimpilo Orphanage in KwaMashu, South Africa

  • Support for Project 46664, which works to combat the global HIV/AIDS pandemic. Grobanites for Africa is pleased to have provided a $10,000 donation to this program through the JGF.

So far GFA has raised $14,598.93!!

Thank you for your contributions!!
